Open an AVEVA Instrumentation Project

When an AVEVA Instrumentation module is started, you must first login to your CONNECT account, via which licensing is managed.

1. Login to your AVEVA CONNECT account.

   The CONNECT Sign In window displays:

   

2. Enter the applicable CONNECT email address and password, and then click Sign In.

   Note: Once you have logged in, you will not need to do so again for 24 hours.

   The Select an AVEVA Instrumentation Project... window displays.

3. Select the required Project.

   

   Tip: You can also open the Select an AVEVA Instrumentation Project... window by selecting the Open Project option from the Project Tab in AVEVA Instrumentation of all modules.

4. Double-click the Project you want to open or click on it and click Select.

   The login procedure then depends on the authentication type of the Project (refer to the Security Manager User Guide for further information).

   • If Windows Authentication (the default option) is the authentication method being used for the Project, the Project is then opened.

   • If SQL Server Authentication is the authentication method being used for the Project, the SQL User Login window is displayed:

     

     1. Enter valid SQL server login details and then click OK.

        The Project opens.

   • If AVEVA Project Authentication is the authentication method being used for the Project, the Project User Login window is displayed:

     

     2. Enter valid Project User login details and then click OK. The Project is then opened.

     Note: If the Project Database (DB) is at an earlier version than that of the product, it will need to be upgraded before it is opened. Refer to Database Upgrade for further information.

     If the Project is being opened for the first time, the following message displays:

     

5. Click OK to continue.

   The Project opens.

6. To create further Projects, select New from the Select an AVEVA Instrumentation Project... window.

   The Create a New AVEVA Instrumentation Project window displays. For more information, refer to the Installation User Guide.
