Add Cables to the Catalog

To add a new Cable to the project Cable Catalog, open the Cable Catalog grid and click New from the Records section of the Home tab.

Note: Wiring Manager also provides facilities for importing of Catalog Cables from another project. Refer to Import Catalog Items from another Project.

The Catalog Cable Details window is then displayed:

Check the Allow use on Project checkbox if the catalog cable is to be available for use in the project (that is, it's listed in the Cable Schedule).

The checkbox is checked by default.

Note: Only those cables with their Allow use on Project checkbox checked will be available for use when working in the project Cable Schedule. Although the cable catalog can hold thousands of standard cables from various manufacturers, 'Allow' filters only specific cables for use on the project.
