To add a new Hookup Item to the catalogue

  1. With the Hookup Item Catalog grid open, click New on the Home tab.

The Hookup Item Detail window is then displayed:

  2. Add a Category. This can be any text value, for example 'Ball Valve' or 'Male Elbow' etc. The category field is automatically filled with all the unique categories already defined in the catalog. Additional categories may be created by entering them. They will then be added to this list.

  3. Enter a User Code. This is the code that will appear on the Hookup Drawing. This is a simplified code that for example could be a three digit number, so that all 1/2" Unions would be a 101 etc.

  4. Enter a User Catalogue No. This is an optional field used to enable materials management systems to track the component. For example a SAP code. MESC number etc.

  5. Enter a Contingency. This allows the project Bill of Materials report to be increased by a specific number of items to allow for spares or runover. This is ideal for tube and/or unions where it may be appropriate to allow some additional quantity to ensure the site has some extra items.

Enter an exact number (for example, 2 or 10) or a percentage by entering a number and the percentage character '%' (for example, 2% or 10%).

  6. Check the Allow use on Project checkbox to allow the item to be selected and used on the project. If the checkbox is not checked, the item will not be listed in the Find a Component window, used to add items to Hookup templates (refer to Assign Hookup Items to Templates).

  7. Add a Description. This is the detailed description of the item that will be seen on hookup drawings.

  8. Add the Manufacturer and Catalog No. These are the manufacturer and model number details used to purchase the item.

  9. Add the Size and Material. These are more information to describe the item.

  10. Add the Unit. this is the unit of measure (for example, each, metre, ft).

  11. Click OK.
