Choose a data set

You can choose the data set that contains all of the crudes to be selected in the Data Sets area of the Crude Selector dialog. The available options include:

• Choose an existing data set: To configure the Crude Selector dialog to choose only crudes from an existing data set, select the desired data set from Show results from Data Set. The list shows both System Data Sets and previously configured Custom Data Sets.

• Create a new data set: To create a new data set for use in the Crude Selector dialog (and throughout Assay generally), press the ( ) button adjacent to the Show results from Data Set field. This is equivalent to selecting Data Sets from the Settings menu. For more information on data sets, see Data Sets.

For any data set, you can choose to include historical assays in any results returned by the Crude Selector dialog. To include these assays, select Show historical assays in results. When historical assays are not returned (that is, when Show historical assays in results is not selected), the crudes displayed in the Crude List are always recommended.
