Run a Netback case

Open the Netback Case List

Navigate to Netback > Generation > Cases.

Open the required Case for viewing

Click the case name to open the case you want to look at.

Check the Settings

Review the Settings page for the selected Case by clicking the Settings link in the Netback Case Tree. The Settings page shows the individual configuration settings which make up the Netback Case. It is not possible to edit the settings if you are not the owner of the Case.

Review the crude prices. The crudes for Netback generation are added separately on the Crudes List. If a crude price is set relative to a Benchmark, when the Benchmark price is updated all the dependant crude prices update automatically. Also review the product prices and freight costs for the current Case.

Generate the results

Click to generate the results. Margins are shown on the Summary page. Where crude costs and freight are included in the Case, the margin is calculated. If no corresponding costs are included, only the product value is shown.

Review the Crudes List

All items in the Crude List will have their Netback results calculated using the defined settings. Each crude should have an entry on the Crude Pricing and Crude Freight pages. To delete a crude from the current generation select the check box and click . Note that you cannot remove crudes when the Case is only open for viewing. You must open the Case for editing or, if you do not have editing rights, create a copy of the Case.

Add any other required crudes

Click to include extra crudes for generation. Search for new assays by typing their name, origin and reference in the Search box. Select the check box next to their name to add them for Netback generation.

Re-generate and review

Click to re-generate the results and review updated margins.
