Post-generation activities

The results of any crude generation in Assay are shown on a post-generation page. From the post-generation page, you can perform a range of operations on the newly generated crude.

To modify the results of your generation, select the Modify button in the Settings pane. You are returned to the module where you performed the generation. Your original settings remain intact, enabling you to alter the parameters of your generation and regenerate the crude accordingly.

To add a generated crude to the database, enter a name for the crude in the Name field of the Settings dialog, then select the Add to Database button. You are taken to a page from where you can add the generated crude to the database as a User crudes.

• To apply a CAG to your generated crude, select the desired CAG from the Approval Models list in the Crude Approval component.

• To apply a PSG to your generated crude, select the desired PSG from the Grids list in the Property Stream Grids component.

• To view a graph of your generated crude, scroll to the Graph component.

The post-generation graphs are analogous in form, function and content to the Assay graphing tools accessed from the Tools menu, with the following exceptions:

• Base crudes: In addition to the generated crude, base crudes are shown on the graph in the AssayUpdate post generation.

• Blend crudes: In addition to the generated crude, the blend crudes are shown on the graph in both the Blend and BlendAnalysis post generation.

• Crude deletions: The generated crude cannot be deleted from the graph.

Note that you can add further crudes to the graph using the crude selector in the Add crude to Graph component, located immediately below the graph.

To generate a report for the crude, select the type of report to be generated from the Type list in the Reports pane. Select the Generate button to produce the report. Once the report has been generated, you may be able either to view it directly from Assay, or save it to a file.
