Use pricing with BlendExplorer

Crude Pricing

Crude prices can be entered for each of the Test and Base crudes, and the cost of each blend is calculated

The ability to select Pricing Mode, Pricing Date, Price Averaging, Source, and Quote is available only if the optional Platts Pricing Feed has been licensed.

The Crude Pricing page allows the cost of each of the crudes under investigation to be included. If the crude price is included, then along with a colour indicating whether a blend meets all the requirements, the blend cost is also returned.

When Benchmark is set to none the absolute cost of each blend is returned; when a Benchmark is set then the relative cost of each blend to the benchmark is returned.

Several options are available for working with pricing scenarios which define the cost of each crude:

• - Opens the selector to choose an existing Pricing Scenario.

• - Create a new Pricing Scenario by defining the cost of each crude. See Crude pricing.

Freight Pricing

The Crude Freight page allows the cost of shipment of each crude to be included which is used along with crude pricing to determine the cost of every blend. The following options are available for working with freight pricing scenarios:

• - Opens the selector to choose an existing Freight Pricing Scenario.

• - Create a new Freight Pricing Scenario by defining the cost of shipment for each crude. See Add crude freight Add crude freight.

Results

When the BlendExplorer Case includes prices for crude the cost of each blend is returned

The Results page shows whether each blend meets the conditions, along with the cost of each blend. If freight prices are included for all crudes, the cost is calculated from the price of crude + freight, otherwise cost is calculated only from the price of crude.

The Sort by menu allows the ordering of results to be changed.
