Step filters

Step filters are built from individual conditions that are chained together in a series of logical AND operations. Conditions can included measured traded crude property values, as well as other reference information such as dates, locations or traded crude types. They can be used when you want to filter through your cargo data or create a new alert.

The filter is built as a tree, where the tree can branch into separate conditions. Each of these conditions can evaluate to match the filter, or further branch to define more conditions. A cargo is returned by the filter if it can be passed down the tree and meet each condition of each part of the branch.

Each step can be of the type Filter or Result which is set using the menu in the top right of the condition branch. When a step is set as Result then it is possible to mark the condition as Match. If a step is marked as Match then an assay which passes to this level of the tree meets the filter and is returned in the set of results.

To create or edit a step filter, select the edit () icon to the right of Filter on the Cargoes page.
