Overall Cut column

The main numerical columns which can be displayed in Assay are cut columns. These correspond to property values for given cuts on the crude oil. Examples of cuts you could configure in Assay include:

  • The API density of the whole crude.

  • The aromatics content by volume of the 150-250°C kerosene cut.

  • The asphaltene content of the vacuum residue 1050°F+.

When configuring a cut column, you must fix several parameters for the cut:

Boiling range

Set a boiling range for your cut. The exact options available to you depend upon your choice of cut:

  • Standard: A series of pre-set cuts is available, which represent standard product streams. Select a predefined cut from the drop down list.

  • Custom: A user-defined cut. Explicitly define the start and end boiling points for your cut, by entering values into the Custom Cut boxes. The start and end boiling points default to IBP and FBP, corresponding to the initial and final boiling points of the crude respectively.

Property

Choose a property to apply the cut to from the drop down list.
