Flowsheets

Flowsheets in Assay correspond to linked distillation towers that define refinery products by modelling commercial fractionation. This powerful feature lets you use commercially fractionated cuts defined according to a complete distillation system, where otherwise only perfectly fractionated cuts might be available.

Flowsheets contain two parts:

• Topologies: describe the layout of process units in a refinery configuration and the linkages between them.

• Models: describe the fractionation parameters which define the efficiency of the separation achieved in a refinery, along with information needed to calculate the fractionation efficiencies, such as pressure and calculation method.

You can use flowsheets in several different locations in Assay including the following:

• Views

• Crude Acceptance Grids (CAGs)

  

You can see the list of flowsheets available to you, which have either been created by you or shared by other users.

The following icons next to each entry in the list allow you to manage your flowsheets:

• - Opens the selected flowsheet for editing

• - Creates a copy of the selected flowsheet

• - Deletes the selected flowsheet
