To define the schematic you must enter information about each of the process units in the refinery. The information required depends on the individual process unit but always includes the relative capacity of the process unit, often along with information about cut points or conversion efficiencies in the process unit.

The schematic of the refinery is shown in a process flow diagram. Process units not included in the schematic are greyed out and piping indicates the flow of streams around the refinery.

Select required process units

Click on required units to select them

The Refinery Schematic shows all the units which can be included in the refinery. Process units which are not currently used in the model are greyed out and streams cannot be diverted to these units. To change the activity of a particular unit, click on the unit in the process flow diagram to select the unit.

Toggle the enabled status

Toggle the check boxes to add units to the refinery schematic

To include a process unit in the refinery schematic select the check box to the left of the Capacity Unit cell. Each unit included in the schematic must also have a capacity entered. Double click the Capacity Unit cell to change the unit of measurement for the capacity.

Enter any required parameters

Some process units may require extra variables for the model to run. For these units enter the required parameters.
