Most components can by added to your Dashboard, a single page that allows you to get an overview of the components that you want to see on a day-to-day basis. Components that can be added to your Dashboard have a star () icon in their header bar.

For the purpose of component management, Assay supports two general classes of component:

  • Fully configurable: Fully configurable components may be added to or removed from your Dashboard and provide tailored user views for individual business needs. You can determine the order that components are displayed, both on your Dashboard and on any parent page where components are found. Examples of fully configurable components include Database Assays components and map components.

  • Fixed: These are components that are fixed on the page where they are found, and moreover whose order of appearance is fixed within that page. Examples of fixed components include the graph components shown on Graph pages and the account components shown on the Help pages.
