Paste multiple properties

You can paste several properties into a CAG grid from an external document, such as a text file or an Excel spreadsheet. The property names must be on different rows, separated by an empty row. The property name and unit must be in neighbouring cells when in Excel, or separated by a tab character when in a text file.

To paste the properties into the CAG grid, follow these steps.

  1. In the external document, copy the property names and units to the clipboard.

  2. In the CAG grid, right-click a row header, then select Paste from the menu.

The property in the current row is replaced, and Assay adds as many more rows as needed to paste all the properties. If a property name or unit is not recognised, the property is not added.

Each criterion has a warning range or a rejection range. If the stream/property value for the criterion falls outside the warning range, a warning will be generated. If the stream/property value falls outside the error range, an error will be generated.

A CAG may define a criterion for the weight yield of kerosene with an error range of outside 10 - 20%, and a rejection minimum of 12%.

    • If a crude had a kerosene yield of 14% it would be in the acceptable range, and so would pass this criterion.

    • If a crude had a kerosene yield of 11% it would be in the warning range, but still acceptable, so it would generate a warning flag for this criterion.

If a crude had a kerosene yield of 9% it would be outside the error range, so would generate an error flag for this criterion.

  3. To enter an evaluation limit:

    1. Find the intersection of the stream column and property row that defines the criterion.

    2. Choose whether the limit is a minimum or maximum limit, and the range it applies to. Enter the value in the appropriate text box.

  4. To temporarily deactivate a limit value, so that it is not used in the criterion evaluation, clear the check box for the value.

  5. You can optionally add a comment to any cell in the grid, including the row header cells with property names.

  6. To add a comment, right-click the cell and select Insert Comment from the menu. Write your comment in the text field that appears. When you are finished, click anywhere else on the page to close the text field.

  7. To edit or delete a comment, right-click the cell, then select Edit Comment or Delete Comment from the menu, respectively.
