The matches filter condition allows you to filter crudes in the database on the basis of simple selection criteria. The Matches filter condition behaves similarly to a simple filter. You can set the database field against which you wish to filter by selecting an entry from the first drop down box. Available fields against which you can match include:

Field

Description

Country

The country of origin of the crude

Descriptive Name

The name of the crude

Reference

The reference of the crude

Region

The region of origin of the crude

Load Port

The name of a load terminal where the crude is loaded for transportation

Discharge Port

The name of a disport where the crude is unloaded after transportation

Refinery

The name of a refinery where the crude is processed

Note that values for some fields are typically set only for certain types of assays. For example, load terminals are typically set for cargo tracking assays, but not otherwise. Hence, selecting the load terminal entry from the drop down list typically matches crudes only from among cargo tracking assays.

The text matching behaviour is determined by your selection from the second drop down box. The available choices are described in the following table.

Operator

Description

LIKE

Match the item if the text occurs anywhere in the field named in the first drop down box.

=

Match the item if the text occurs exactly as in the field named by the first drop down box.

The final component of the matches filter condition is a text box, into which you enter your filtering text.
