  1. Overview

The Overview page is used to enter a name and short description for the BlendExplorer case. It is also possible to associate the case with a particular refining Location by choosing the name of the site from the dropdown menu. The Recommended checkbox is used to mark if the BlendExplorer case is currently a recommended one.

BlendExplorer cases can be shared with other Assay users. To share a case, choose the share where the case should be saved from the Share dropdown menu. Users with access to the chosen share are able to view and use the case, but not modify it.

The BlendExplorer case may make use of other items in Assay such as flowsheets or pricing scenarios. The objects used the BlendExplorer case are shown, along with a link to the item and their current status.

  2. Diagnostics

The Diagnostics page shows messages about the current status of the BlendExplorer Case and any problems

The Diagnostics page shows any problems with the current BlendExplorer Case that may stop its successful evaluation. These errors or warning should be corrected before running the Case. Any errors prevent the Case from being saved.

  3. Crudes

Crudes used in the BlendExplorer analysis are added on the Crudes page. A Base Blend is made by mixing the base crudes in their entered Blend Ratios. This Base Blend is then mixed one-by-one with each Test Crude separately at various different percentages and compared to the defined criteria.

To add crudes to the lists:

    • Select the add () icon to open the Crude Selector. See Select and Group Crudes.

    • Search for and add the required assay(s) to the list.

    • Select OK to close the Crude Selector.
