The following table shows the buttons that make up the SCP Launcher toolbar.

Button |
Description |
|
|
The Play button launches SCP from the SCP Launcher and brings it to "Active" state. |
|
|
The Shutdown button stops SCP and changes its state from "Active" to "Available." |
|
|
The Reboot button restarts SCP. The SCP goes to "Rebooting" state and comes back to "Active" state. |
|
|
The Export button exports the list of selected Simulation Control Processors (SCPs) and creates a batch file under a custom path. Using this batch file the list of SCPs can be launched even without SCP Launcher Graphical User Interface (GUI). |
|
|
The Delete button deletes the local checkpoint file of the SCP, which is in Shutdown or Available state. The checkpoint file is available at the following path C:\Users\<User>\Documents\SimSci\SCP\<SCP Name>. |
SCP can be launched from the SCP Launcher using four options: Fast Load, Local Checkpoint, Show Windows, and Logging. You can choose any combination of these options.

-
The Fast Load option enables SCP to load in less than 30 seconds. It does not perform OM rebuild and eliminates the associated time delay. When all of the Control Processors (CPs) are loaded in to memory, manually rebuild the connections with the SCP Reset OM Tool. When Fast Load option is disabled the SCP instance starts identically to a real CP: it takes about four minutes for the CP to start, all peer-to-peer, or Object Manager (OM), connections that are found are connected, and restarting the CP will restore the checkpoint file from the CP host (not a local copy). Disable Fast Load option when building a new control system.
-
The Local Checkpoint option enables the storage of the checkpoint file on the SCP machine. The checkpoint file can be retrieved quickly from the local SCP machine when compared to the remote CP Host (WSTA70 / WSVR70). When the SCP is launched with this option for the first time, the checkpoint file is copied from the remote CP host (WSTA70/ WSVR70) to the local SCP machine C:\Users\<User>\Documents\SimSci\SCP\<SCP Name>.
-
The Settings button contains three options: Themes, Show Window, and Logging.
-
Themes: Provides three aesthetic options for the SCP Documents directory.
-
Show Window: Displays the console window of the SCPapplication when an SCP is launched. Turn off the Show Window option to hide the console window.
-
Logging: Logs the events captured in the SCP application console window into a text file at C:\Users\<User>\Documents\SimSci\SCP\Logs\<SCPname>.txt.
-
-
The Help button opens the SCP Documents directory.

-
The Exit button closes SCP Launcher. To restart SCP Launcher, double-click the shortcut available
on the desktop of the SCP machine.
