SCP functions as either of the following:

  • A standalone application, in which an SCP replaces a real CP and executes in approximately real time.

  • A simulation application, in which an SCP Engine and a SimSync Engine regulate the execution of each SCP. The SCP Engine and SimSync Engine connect to the DSS infrastructure. DSS controls simulation time-related functions and regulates / coordinates the execution of all simulation engines and other simulation applications.
