AVEVA™ Simulation for Foxboro Control

Considerations

Recommendations when building a simulation suite are listed below.

  • CCS 9.1+ supports multi-core configurations, enabling full processor usage. With multi-core enabled it may be possible to reduce the number of machines needed for simulation by using a single machine for multiple purposes. For instance, the historian collector could also be used as an operator station.

  • If duplicating an existing Foxboro Evo system, start with the existing System Definition. It is recommended to use the same workstation names as on the production system, this minimizes name changes and software assignment when importing a cab file.

  • If you restore a Galaxy that has components in the Deployed state, you must synchronize the deployment state to be Undeployed. For more information, refer to either the Control Software documentation or the System Platform Simulation User Guide, section Synchronizing Unit Equipment Deployment State.
