Important Warnings

The following is a short list of important warnings that you should be aware of before using SCP software:

Important: Read this document thoroughly. Additionally, read the SCP and I/A Series/Control Core Services release notes before beginning the installation process.

Important: Foxboro Quick Fixes should not be installed on any machine with SCP installed. The Quick Fix will overwrite simulation specific files.

Important: Due to a security enhancement related to digital signatures, it is essential to install Microsoft KB3033929 update on a Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 machine prior to installing SCP. This Windows update is not included with the SCP installer. Microsoft Windows 10 and Server 2016 contain this update already. Your installation may vary depending on your installed updates.

Warning: SCP has been developed with virtual machines. We no longer validate the SCP installation and operation against physical ethernet (copper) NICs such as GB Broadcom, Intel, and Realtek. When using physical ethernet (copper) NIC cards, ensure that the drivers are up-to-date. SCP no longer supports physical fiber NICs.

Make sure to obtain the correct SCP software version compatible with your specific I/A Series/ Control Core Services/Foxboro EvoTM version. Consult the online compatibility matrix. See Appendix D: Software Support Site for more information.
