DYNSIM SimExec can be installed on the same machine as the SCP or a remote machine.

Prior to starting DYNSIM with SCP, ensure the following prerequisites are met:

  • If DYNSIM SimExec and SCP are on the same machine, select Start / All Programs / SIMSCI / DSS5xx / DSS Host Configuration Editor. Select Set Interface. Choose the non-FECN (formerly MESH) network. Click Set. Click Reset. In the Messages dialog box, verify that the S4MSimStartup and S4MUtilityServer both registered with the Naming Service. If it failed, try again, or reboot the computer.

  • If DYNSIM SimExec is on a remote machine, refer to the DYNSIM Getting Started Guide Getting Started guide to configure the Naming Services.

    • The Activation Manager package is installed on the SCP machine

    • The DSS Reset on the SCP machine points to the remote DYNSIM SimExec machine, followed by the DSS Reset on the DYNSIM SimExec machine

Follow the directions below to start DYNSIM for use with SCP.

  1. Click the Windows Start button.

  2. Select All Programs > SIMSCI from the display menu.
