AVEVA™ Simulation for Foxboro Control

SCP Software Components

The SCP Software contains two sets of components – a universal set and a set specific to systems using FoxView. The SCP Software contains the following components that are compatible with systems using with either FoxView or Control HMI systems (but they are not installed on those machines):

  • SCP App – Simulated control processors (FCP 270, ZCP 270, FCP 280, and FDC 280). There is a one-to-one correspondence between a CP in the plant and an SCP App in the simulation.

  • SCP Engine – Simulation engine to control the simulated control processors.

  • SCP Configuration Utilities – Utilities to diagnose and configure communications.

  • SCP Launcher – Utility to start/reboot / shutdown SCP Apps.

  • I/A Virtual Switch – Utility that permits multiple SCP Apps to communicate across the MESH network through one NIC.

  • SimSync Engine – Simulation engine to manage time for other simulation components.

The SCP Software contains the following components that are installed on FoxView machines:

  • AMS Simulation Components –Simulation components, for the alarm subsystem, specific to a particular version of CCS. CCS must be installed prior to SCP installation.

  • FoxView Simulation Components – Simulation components specific to a particular version of FoxView. FoxView must be installed prior to SCP installation.

  • FAIM Simulation Components – A simulation version of the AIM* Historian.

For the special case of the Single Box Solution all SCP components are installed on one machine – see Appendix A: Single Box Solution for details.
