After installing SCP software, take the following steps to configure the Windows Firewall and power options for the SCP computer:

  1. Turn off Windows Firewall on the SCPSCP machine:

    1. Navigate to Control Panel > Windows Firewall > Turn Windows Firewall on or off.

    2. Under Customize settings for each type of network select Turn off Windows Firewall option for all categories listed.

  2. Turn off any other Firewall software on the SCP machine including but not limited to:

    1. McAfee Host Intrusion Prevention (HIP) for desktop

    2. Norton Internet Security

    3. any other Firewall software

  3. Change the User Account Control (UAC) setting to Never and reboot.

  4. For Windows 10 / 2016, set the Windows Update and Windows Power Plan options. See Appendix C: Windows 10 / Server 2016.
