The XRef Editor includes a powerful filtering tool that allows you to select rows based on the contents of any column. This example filters for all points that are associated with writing to MTL1 parameters and marks them with a special color.
-
In the XRef Editor window toolbar, click the Filter button.
-
Filter the cross-reference table by occurrence of MTL1 in the To Symbol column. Mark the checkbox next to the To Symbol. In the adjacent field, type *MTL1*. The asterisks are wild cards.

-
Click OK to close the filter and open the cross reference table.
-
The XRef Editor should display only two rows in the digital portion of the table and no rows in the analog portion of the table.

-
Select both rows of the digital table. Click on the row number indicator for the top row (it highlights yellow). Hold down Shift key and click the row number indicator for the bottom row (both rows highlight yellow).

-
In the XRef Editor window toolbar, click the Format button.

-
In the Background Color field, select orange – or a color of your choice. Note that formatting does not affect the cross referencing function – it is for aesthetics and organization only.
-
Click OK.
-
In the XRef Editor window toolbar, click the Filter button.
-
Unmark the checkbox next to the To Symbol and click OK. All control points should now be displayed.
-
Close the XRef Editor by clicking the Close button.
