For this tutorial, we will learn how to open a pre-existing flowsheet.

  1. Verify that the SCP instance in the Getting Started section of this document is running and the DEMO controls are loaded

  2. On the SCP machine browse to: C:\Program Files (x86)\SIMSCI\SCP\User. If needed, move Simple_Flowsheet_FSBase.s4m to the machine running DYNSIM. Open this file in DYNSIM.

  3. If needed, open DYNSIM, then open the simulation. Review the Simulation Configuration to verify two engines will start on the SCP computer: DYNSIM-L and SCPEngine. Close the engine configuration window.

  4. Click the Start button, loading the simulation and its corresponding engine details into the server’s memory

  5. If the simulation found the SCP instance and the DEMO controls were deployed, it will display a dialog box to Enable Cross Referencing. Keep this box checked and select OK.

  6. Review the Message Monitor for errors or warnings. Blue colored text is informational only. The warning message regarding the PTL1 pump curve can be ignored.

  7. The simulation is loaded and placed in the FROZEN state. Click the Resume button. Notice the Elapsed Simulation Time advancing and the RUNNING indication.
