SCP has been designed to allow an Operator Training Simulator to upgrade the software version. ICs and checkpoints created in previous versions of SCP can be migrated to new versions of SCP. From time to time, fixes/improvements will make this migration more difficult or require extra effort.

SCP simulates the control processor. In simulation the controls are saved in two parts: the controls configuration (checkpoint) and the snapshots (dynamic values). Each must be considered separately.
