Backtracks

Backtracks in FAIM are handled differently from those in ICs; the FAIMEngine does not store any RTP data files for backtracks. The FAIMEngine stores a pointer into the RTP database files representing when the backtrack occurred. When a backtrack restores, FAIM uses this pointer to revert the ‘current’ RTP database files to the state they were in when the backtrack occurred. It is important to remember this point because it means that the backtracks are valid only within the single simulation execution run. Therefore, if you are restoring the simulator to a defined state at a later date, use an IC.
