Installation Overview

The process for creating a single box or one box is most similar to installing SCP on a Foxboro FoxView HMI machine.

  1. Create loopback adapters for the FECN (formerly MESH) networks required for I/A Series Control Core Services installation.

  2. Commit the machine with a system definition - System Definition: A Step by Step Procedure (B0193WQ). This installs I/A Series or Control Core Services. Refer to the section Foxboro Evo Software Installation Overview for more details about specific versions or I/A Series or Control Core Services. This machine must be the CP Host for CPs in the system definition.

  3. Install FoxView / FoxDraw 10.5.1.

  4. Disable I/A Series or Control Core Services, disable virus scanner, and reboot prior to installing SCP Software.

  5. Disconnect from the company LAN or Internet (critical).

  6. Install DYNSIM.

  7. Install SCP 3.1 Software (special procedure in this section).

  8. Install Flexera license server.

  9. Re-enable virus checking software.

  10. Re-enable I/A Series / Control Core Services processes and reboot.

A typical single box solution will receive all of the components listed in the section SCP Software Components.

The installation procedure consists of two parts:

  1. the SCP software installation steps.

  2. the post SCP installation network adapter configuration.
