Selecting Components and Defining the Component Slate

  1. Next define the components used in the simulation. You may define multiple Component Slates.

  2. Click on the Tank Level Control flowsheet to highlight it in yellow. This step will make the component icon active (colored yellow, not gray).

  3. Click the component icon to open a window where components and thermodynamics are defined. The Library tab allows you to add any component from the different libraries.

  4. Enter a component by typing the full name in the Add Library Component field. Then, click the Add button. Alternatively, select the component from a library in the Component Family menu.

  5. Example: Under the Add Library Component section, type WATER and then click Add. The list item WATER appears under the selected components section.

  6. Under the Add Library Component section, type Air and click Add. The list item AIR appears under the selected components section.

  7. Click OK to save and close the Components and Thermodynamics window.
