Silently Install the AVEVA Simulation for Foxboro Control IA Switch Protocol Driver

This section defines how to install the SCP IA Switch protocol driver without user interaction. The installation must be performed after the SCP Installation. Move to the SCP installation dir. By default, the SCP directory is C:\Program Files (x86)\SIMSCI\SCP. The directory may be changed by using the INSTALLDIR option in the previous section. The driver can be found in the directory: [SCP Installation directory]\Driver.
Run the installation (NICInstaller.exe) with the following options and in the following order:
-
Required: /install or /uninstall
-
/install — installs the SCP IA Switch protocol driver.
-
/uninstall — uninstalls the protocol driver.
-
-
Optional, but only one of the following options /v or /hide or
/silent /devicename "Device Name"-
/v — verbose
-
/hide — hides current command window. Do not use this for the silent install.
-
/silent /devicename "Device Name".
-
/silent — no user interaction in selecting the NIC device.
-
/devicename "Device Name" — The name of the NIC adapter found in Network Connections (see the following screenshots).
-
-
The Device can be found in the Network Connections for all network adapters. Use the full Device Name as shown in the table. For example, the driver will be installed against the Ethernet1 device, so the /devicename argument is "Intel(R) 82574L Gigabit Network Connection #2".

Command Example
NICInstaller.exe /install /silent /devicename
"Intel(R) 82574L Gigabit Network Connection #2"
Where:
The driver will be installed (/install) without user interaction (/silent) to device
(/devicename "Intel(R) 82574L Gigabit Network Connection #2").
Note: The NICInstaller step will have a Windows Security popup when installing the driver.

The solution is ported from the AVEVA certificate into the certificate manager. See the following articles:
