Save Changes to the Formula

  • Last UpdatedSep 24, 2024

You can use the Save Changes option to save the runtime formula updates made by the operator after the recipe execution or formula download is completed. This feature enables operators to adjust recipes and formulas based on current context, thereby enhancing efficiency, quality, and responsiveness in runtime operations.

When the New Target value is modified for Formula Parameters, the Current Target value is also updated during the execution. The operator can save these updated target values using the Save Changes option, which can then be used for future executions.

The Save Changes feature can also be configured with Done By/Check By permissions to prevent modifications to the formula. These updated parameter values will not be available for execution unless approved by designated approvers who reviews and check-in the formula.

The save changes action performed on the formula gets recorded to the formula Audit Trail. Multiple save changes on the formula will override the previous saved changes and the latest will be preserved.

NOTE:
- The Save Changes permission is available to Administrator and System Supervisor by default.
- For the operator to view and save the modifications made to the Formula Parameters, the Edit and Save Changes permissions must be enabled.
- The Save Changes option appears in the action bar only when modifications are made to the New Target values of the Formula Parameters for formula download or recipe execution.

To save changes to the formula

When recipe execution and formula download is completed, the Save Changes option appears in the action bar based on the user role permissions.

  1. Click Save Changes option in the action bar to save the changes made to the Formula Parameters.

  2. Click OK in the confirmation message to save the formula with updated parameter values.

When Done By/Check By permission is enabled, the Save Changes to Formula dialog box appears. You need to provide the credentials of the Done By/Check By user to complete the authorization and save the formula.

For the next time execution with the updated parameter values, the approver should review, check-in, and approve the formula. The operator can then use these updated Formula Parameter values for future executions.

You can also save the changes to formula using the ClientAPI script. The following are the sample codes:
