Audit Trail

The Audit Trail feature in AVEVA Recipe Management records the modifications made to the following entities: Capability, Equipment, Recipe Templates, Recipes, Formula Templates, and Formula.
The Audit Trail shows a list of modifications such as when they were made, which entity was modified, entity type, entity version, the previous and current state of an entity, what are the actions, who made them, and as applicable, user-added comments.
You can view Audit Trail as,

Per entity: all actions performed on an individual entity by selecting the Audit Trail tab on the details page of the entity.

Report: all actions taken on different entities by clicking Reports from the Main menu, and then clicking Audit Trail.
The following actions get recorded in the Audit Trail:

Check In

Check Out
-
Undo Check Out

Override Check Out

Set State - Obsolete, Approved (applicable for Equipment, Formula, and Recipe)

Set Use (applicable for Formula)
When you perform multiple actions on multiple entities using Multi-select option, it adds a separate entry in the Audit Trail for each action.
The table shows the details that appears in Audit Trail when different actions are taken on the entity.

Check-In |
When you create an entity and check-in, a new entry is recorded in the Audit Trail. The Notes/Comments field also gets updated as:

Check-Out |
When you check-out an entity, a new entry is recorded with version increment by 1 from the current checked-in version. |

Undo Check-Out |
When you undo the check-out of an entity, a new entry is recorded with the same version as of the last checked-in version. |

Override Check-Out |
When you override check-out by another user, a new entry is recorded with the same version. |
|
Set State |
When you set the State, a new entry is recorded along with the provided comments. |
|
Set Use (applicable for Formula entity) |
When you set Use , a new entry is recorded. |
NOTES:
- The actions performed on the entity get stored in the AuditEvents table in the database.
- The system does not modify the Audit Trail entry once recorded.
- Timestamps are recorded in UTC and presented in the user's local time zone.
- The report page will be blank until some modifications are made to the entity.
- When you upgrade the product from the previous version, the audit trail is maintained
from the moment you upgraded.
