Installation prerequisites

Production deployment (recommended)

AVEVA Recipe Management is intended to be deployed in a Windows Domain (Active Directory) environment for production systems. A domain environment provides centralized user and group management, along with consistent security policy enforcement for access control and administration.

Workgroup deployment (restricted use)

A Windows Workgroup environment is supported only for an all-in-one, single-server installation, where all Recipe Management components are installed on the same computer. This deployment model is intended for evaluation, proof-of-concept, or standalone use cases.

The AVEVA Recipe Management installation program analyzes the software installed on your computer and identifies any required prerequisite software that is not already installed. Some prerequisite software can be installed directly from the AVEVA Recipe Management installation program.

Installing AVEVA Recipe Management is a multi-step process:

1. Install and configure prerequisite software, such as Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8.

2. Install the AVEVA Recipe Management product files. If selected, the installation also installs:

   • AVEVA Identity Manager for the ArchestrA Single Sign-On Service feature.

   • AVEVA Enterprise License Server and Manager for the AVEVA Enterprise Licensing feature.

3. Configure AVEVA Recipe Management product, the System Management Server, and (if applicable) the AVEVA Enterprise License Server.
