About Recipe Templates

Procedures define the order in which Capabilities are executed in a Recipe. Procedures can involve a very simple sequence of Capabilities or a more complex arrangement which execute in a combination of parallel branches and loops.

You use Recipe Templates to create the procedure associated with a Recipe. Recipe Templates can have one of three states: Draft, Current or Obsolete. You cannot delete a Recipe Template. If a Recipe Template is no longer in use, you can set its state to Obsolete.

When you click Recipe Templates from the Main menu, the Summary page appears. By default, the Summary page shows the Tile view, and the tiles contain the following information about existing Recipe Templates:

  • Name

  • Assigned Formula Template

  • Number of associated Recipes

  • State

  • User who has it checked out (if applicable)

  • Upgrade icon (if applicable)

  • Keywords (if applicable): The Keywords icon displays a list of Keywords available for the selected entity when you move the mouse over the Keywords icon. In the case of Grid view, a separate column Keywords displays the lists of Keywords available for the selected entity. The Keywords appear in the order in which their individual positions are assigned in the Keywords page.

You can also see a warning icon Unmapped_Parameter in the tiles on the Recipe Template Summary and Details page. The warning icon can appear due to any of the following:

  • A Formula Template is not set

  • Any of the available transition expression is not set or blank

  • All required parameters are not mapped

  • Recipe is not assigned to any Equipment

When you move your mouse over the icon, either of the following tooltips is displayed:

  • Formula Template is not set: This tooltip appears when you have not set the Formula Template for the newly added procedure

  • Has validation warnings or requires validation: This tooltip appears when you have other validation errors. You can validate a specific Recipe Template to see the errors.

You can use the Show entities with warning only check box in the advanced filter option of the Recipe Template summary page to see the Recipe Templates that have one or more validation errors.

The total number of Recipe Templates is shown at the bottom of the screen unless you have used filters to limit the Recipe Templates shown. If you perform a filter operation, the filter icon appears at the bottom of the screen. For more information, see Filtering.

Click the Grid View icon to view the Summary page in the Grid view format.

You can click the tiles (in Tile view) or click View (in Grid view) on the Summary page to navigate to the Recipe Templates details page.

The Recipe Templates details page provides the following information:

  • Name and description of the Recipe Template

  • Version details

  • State of the Recipe Template

  • Matches link - The Matches link shows "X of Y" Recipes where:

    • Y is the total number of Recipes associated with the Recipe Template.

    • X is the number of Recipes at the selected version of the Recipe Template. For information on upgrading, see Basic Concepts. For example, if the total count of created Recipes is five, "5 of 5" is shown. After you save a new version of the Recipe Template, and three Recipes are upgraded to the current version of the Recipe Template, “3 of 5" is shown. If you view the previous version of the Recipe Template, "2 of 5" is shown.

When you click the link, it directs the current page to the Recipes summary page, which shows all the Recipes associated with the assigned Recipe Template.

  • More Details icon - Click the More Details More_Details icon to view the Author details and also the Formula Templates detail. The Formula Template value is initially blank when you create a new Recipe Template. Once you set the Formula Template, the Formula Template details are available, and you can click the Formula Template link to navigate to the selected Formula Template details page. You can also view the associated Keywords which are listed in the order of position they are assigned in the Keywords page during configuration.

  • Procedure tab

  • Parameter Map tab

  • Advanced and Basic filter

In the Recipe Templates Details page, you can also perform the following:

  • Set State of the Recipe Template

  • View the Version Difference Report

  • View the Upgrade Difference Report

  • Check in or Check out

  • Duplicate an existing Recipe Template

  • Upgrade an existing Recipe Template

  • Validate the Recipe Template

  • Assign the Keywords

  • Print the SFC/SFC with Details of Recipe Template to PDF

NOTE: You can view the Version Difference Report only when the selected Recipe Template version is greater than 1. A difference in the Recipe Template version can happen due to the editing of the existing Recipe Template or because of an upgrade caused by a change in associated Formula Template.

If you do not have the permission to View Recipe Templates, the Recipe Templates menu would not be available to you.
