The AVEVA Recipe Management website page is automatically created after installing and configuring AVEVA Recipe Management. You can access the AVEVA Recipe Management website using the shortcut created during installation or by typing the URL. The default URL for the AVEVA Recipe Management website is

https://<hostname>/RecipeManagement/

where <hostname> is the name of the web server on which AVEVA Recipe Management is installed.

NOTE:
- If the SSL Certificate used by AVEVA Recipe Management is Issued to Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN), the URL will be https://<myserver.mydomain.com>/RecipeManagement
- Specify the port number if you have not configured the server with the default port number 443, for example, https://<hostname>:<portnumber>/RecipeManagement/
- In the new URL, the product name RecipeManagerPlus is changed to RecipeManagement.

For more information regarding the hostname restrictions for AVEVA Recipe Management, refer to the following Microsoft site:

When you first open the AVEVA Recipe Management website, you are redirected to the Login page for authentication.

Select any of the following option as shown in the screenshot:

  • Windows integrated login: The User name and Password boxes are not available and it takes the currently logged on Windows user name and password for authentication.

When you click the Windows Integrated login option for the first time, the User name & Password boxes are disabled and if you click the Login button, a dialog box appears asking for your credentials. In order to prevent this dialog box from appearing, make sure you follow the steps mentioned in the Enabling Integrated Windows Authentication topic for a smooth and continuous login experience.

  • Login with credentials: Enter a valid user name and password to log on to AVEVA Recipe Management. After successful authentication, you are logged on to AVEVA Recipe Management.

NOTE: The browser will not save the password even if the browser settings are configured to save the password. You must enter the user name and password whenever you want to log on to AVEVA Recipe Management.

Enabling Integrated Windows Authentication

You must make the following changes in your browser settings so that there is a smooth and continuous login experience for the current logged on user:

For example, if you are using Internet Explorer, do the following:

  • Go to IE Options > Security > Trusted Sites > Custom Level and then select “Automatic log on with current user name and password”.

NOTE: If you are using Chrome or Edge, it will automatically update the modified settings from Internet Explorer.

If you are using Firefox, do the following:

  1. Open Firefox and type about:config in the address bar. A warning message appears.

  2. Click the Proceed button.

  3. Use the Filter field to search for the ‘network.automatic-ntlm-auth.trusted-uris’ configuration parameter.

  4. Double-click the name of the configuration parameter.

  5. Enter the URLs of the sites you want to enable NTLM authentication for in the form: https://<MachineName>

Once the above browser settings are completed, you can close the browser and open the AVEVA Recipe Management application.

With these changes in place, when you select ‘Windows Integrated login’ option and then click the Login button, the browser automatically uses current logged in user credentials and lets you login into the application without providing the credentials again.

The options visible on the Main menu are determined by the role you have been assigned as well as by the license that has been activated. For example, a supervisor may see all the options, whereas an operator may only see two or three options. For more information on Roles, see Working with Roles.

Two editions of AVEVA Recipe Management are available if you are using v2.0 or later:

  • AVEVA Recipe Management Standard Edition – Formula Management and Download

  • AVEVA Recipe Management Professional Edition – AVEVA Recipe Management and Execution in addition to the functionality provided by the Standard Edition

You can navigate to the option you want from the Main menu. Some options have a page that summarizes all the items available. This summary page consists of "tiles" or "grid rows" depending on the Summary view selection. Each tile or grid row in the Summary page shows information about an existing entity that you selected.
