Create a Formula

You can create Formulas using the Formula Templates that have been checked in.
Formulas inherit parameters and parameter groups from the Formula Templates. You can import values for existing parameters. For more information, see Exporting Parameters and Permissions.
To create a Formula

From the Main menu, select Formulas to display the Formulas Summary page. By default, all existing Formulas appear as tiles.

Click the Add button. A slide-in window appears listing all the available Formula Templates.

Select the Formula Template you want to use and click Add. The new Formula is created with the Parameters and Parameter Groups from the Formula Template.

Change the default name assigned to the Formula and add a description if you want.
NOTE: The Formula name cannot exceed 128 characters.

To change the individual parameter's details, browse to the desired Group tab, and then click the Edit button next to the Parameter that you want to edit. The values for a parameter will initially be from the parent Formula Template. Some of the values can be changed in the Formula. If you change a Formula value, the "Use Default" value will change to "No." You can revert Formula changes back to the Formula Template by changing "Use Default" back to "Yes."
NOTE: Parameter Extensions that belong to the "All Groups" tab and Parameter Extensions which belong to the same group as the Formula Parameter Group are visible in the grid. However, you can edit the Parameter Extensions only for which you have permission.

Click the Update button to save any changes.

Click the Equipment tab. By default, the All Equipment check box is selected and the Formula that you want to create is configured to be used for all the Equipment in the system.

You can clear the All Equipment check box to remove the Formula for the existing Equipment in the system, and then manually select Equipment from the list to assign the Formula.

On the Equipment tab, click Select All or Unselect All to add all Equipment or remove all existing Equipment, and then click Update. To add or remove any specific Equipment, click the check box to select or clear the check box, and then click Update.

On the Done By/Check By Settings tab, click the Override global settings option to override the default done by/check by settings for Formula. For more information, refer to Overriding Done By/Check By Settings for Formula.

Click Set Formula size to set the size of the Formula. For more information, refer to Set Formula Size.

Click Check In.

Change the state of your Formula if required by clicking the Set State button. You must have permission to change the Formula state. For information on States, see Basic Concepts.

Click the back arrow icon to return to the summary page. All the changes are updated in the Formula's tile.

Click the Formula Template link in the Details page to navigate to the assigned Formula Templates detail page.
NOTE: If you make any changes to the Formula-Equipment checked list, make sure you click Update before performing a Check In or clicking the Back arrow icon. Otherwise, a warning message appears reminding you to save the changes.
