Map the Formula Template Parameters

  • Last UpdatedNov 28, 2018

You can map the Parameters in the Recipe Templates editor only when the Recipe Template is checked out, and the Formula Template is set for the selected Recipe Template. You can map one Formula Template parameter to many Capability parameters, but the following rules are enforced:

  • A Formula parameter with a group can map to a Capability parameter with the same group or Capability parameters with a predefined General group. However, Input and Output groups must always match exactly.

  • The UOMs must match, or either of them can be blank.

  • If the Capability parameter was defined with an "Optional Target," then the mapping is optional. Otherwise, all Capability parameters must be mapped.

  • A Formula Template parameter with a list can map to a Capability parameter with the same list OR Capability parameter without a list.

  • A parameter not eligible for mapping will not highlight. If the user tries to map it, no error will be displayed and no mapping will be performed.

Recipe Templates having unmapped parameters display a warning icon in the tiles of the summary page as well as the detail page. This icon disappears after you complete the mapping. Also, the required but unmapped parameter rows in the Parameter map are highlighted in yellow which disappears after the parameters are mapped.

NOTE:
- The unmapped parameters which do not require mapping are not highlighted and display the "Mapping is not required " tooltip.
- It is possible to check-in a Recipe Template with parameters not being mapped to any of the Formula Template parameters. However, the Recipe Template will get flagged as having validation errors.

You can use the Show unmapped required parameters only check box in the advanced filter option of the Recipe Template detail page. This allows you to see all the unmapped Capability parameters in the Parameter tab where the optional target value is set to No.

To map the Formula Template parameters

  1. From the Summary page, click the Recipe Templates. The Recipe Templates Details page appears.

  2. Click Check Out. Once the Recipe Template is checked out, it returns to the Draft state.

  3. Click the Parameter Map tab. The Parameter Map details grid appears.

  4. Click the Browse icon. The Browse dialog box appears on the right side along with the Parameter, Group, and UOM details of the Formula Template assigned to the Recipe Template.

  5. Select and drag the Formula Template Parameter from the Browse dialog box to a mapped or an unmapped parameter grid row. When you drag and drop the Formula Template Parameter for mapping in the grid, the valid mapped row in the grid is highlighted with green. After the successful mapping, the following changes occur:

    • For Input or Output parameters, the mapping percent for Recipe Template parameters defaults to 100. You can click Edit to update the Mapping Percent value. The Mapping Percent value can be updated in the range from 0 to 100 (inclusive).

    • A Clear button is displayed.

NOTE: You can use the Search icon to filter all the available Formula Template parameters for mapping.

  6. Click Clear to remove the parameter mapping.

  7. Click Close to close the Browse dialog box.
