About Recipes

A Recipe represents the combination of a Formula and a Procedure. When you create a Recipe, a specific Formula instance is selected, and its parameters are automatically mapped to the Capability Parameters based on the mapping specified in the Recipe Template. This enables the user to use the same procedure with different Formulas. The Recipe then uses the parameter values from that Formula when executing this Recipe. A Recipe is not allowed to be used if the Formula with which the Recipe is associated has been set to "Use Not Allowed."

Recipes have one of the three states: Draft, Approved, or Obsolete. You cannot delete a Recipe. If a Recipe is no longer in use, you can set its state to Obsolete.

When you click Recipes from the Main menu, the Summary page appears. By default, the Summary page shows the Tile view. The tile on the Summary page contains the following information about existing Recipe:

  • Name

  • State

  • Recipe Template name

  • Formula Name

  • Upgrade icon (if applicable)

  • Keywords (if applicable): The Keywords icon displays a list of Keywords available for the selected entity when you move the mouse over the Keywords icon. In the case of Grid view, a separate Keywords column displays the lists of Keywords available for the selected entity. The Keywords appear in the order in which their individual positions are assigned in the Keywords page.

NOTE: Use setting (Use Not Allowed) appears next to State if the Use settings of the Formula with which the Recipe is associated has been set to "Use Not Allowed."

In addition to the above information, you can also view the author and check out details if the Recipe is checked out.

The total number of Recipes is shown at the bottom of the screen unless you have used any filters to limit the Recipes shown. If you perform a filter operation, the filter icon appears at the bottom of the screen. For more information, see Filtering.

Click the Grid View icon to view the Summary page in the Grid view format.

You can click the tiles (in the Tile view) or click View (in the Grid view) on the Summary page to navigate to the details page of a Recipe instance. The Recipe Details page provides:

  • Name and description of the Recipe

  • Version details

  • Current State of the Recipe

  • Use setting of the Recipe. The value can be either Allowed or Not Allowed depending on the associated Formula Use setting.

  • Read-only view of the Procedure and Parameter Map details

  • Done By/Check By Settings tab: Displays the default Done By/Check By Settings for Recipe. The tab also provides an option to Override global settings.

  • Advanced and Basic filter

NOTE: In the Recipe Details page, click the More Details More_Details icon to view the Author details, the parent Recipe Templates details, and also the assigned Formula details. You can click the Formula link to navigate to the assigned Formula details page and the Recipe Template link to navigate to the parent Recipe Template details page.

You can also view the associated Keywords which are listed in the order of position they are assigned in the Keywords page during configuration.

The Procedure tab displays the Recipe sequential function calls in a read-only mode. Clicking any of the Capability instances in the Recipe sequential function displays the View Document button. You can click the View Document button to view the default documents/instructions associated with the Capability instance. You can also override an existing document/instruction or add a new document/instruction at the Recipe level. For more information, refer to Modifying Documents/Instructions associated with the Capability.

The Parameter Map tab is divided into the following nested tabs: General, Input, and Output. Apart from these nested tabs, additional nested tabs appear under the Parameters tab if you have users defined Parameter Groups. Group tabs are only displayed if they contain parameters. If a group is deleted, it will be marked with an asterisk (*).

These tabs display the following details in a grid:

  • Capability

  • Alias

  • Parameter

  • Target

  • UOM

  • Mapping Percent (Available only in the Inputs and Outputs tab): The mapping percent value is used as a factor in scaling the target, min, and max value.

Additionally, you can also view the Parameter Extensions column if you have defined any Parameter Extensions.

In the Recipe details page, you can also perform the following:

  • Set the State of Recipe

  • View the Version Difference Report

  • View the Upgrade Difference Report

  • Check in or Check out, or Undo Check out

  • Upgrade an existing Recipe

  • Validate the Recipe against Equipment

  • Assign the Keywords

  • Print SFC or SFC with details to PDF

NOTE: You can view the Version Difference Report only when the selected Recipe version is greater than 1.

If you do not have the permission to View Recipes and Edit Recipes, you cannot see the Recipes menu.
