Upgrade to AVEVA Recipe Management 2023 R2 (v5.1)

  • Last UpdatedJul 22, 2024
  • 2 minute read

Upgrading AVEVA Recipe Management replaces the previous version of AVEVA Recipe Management.

Note: Upgrade does not affect the data stored in the SQL Server database, and the existing information of AVEVA Recipe Management is migrated to the latest Database.

The following is a list of important points that you must note after the upgrade process.

  • The product name Recipe Management is renamed as AVEVA Recipe Management.

  • The URL to access AVEVA Recipe Management is updated to https://<hostname>:<portnumber>/RecipeManagement/. The port number is not displayed in the URL if the application is configured with the default port 443.

If the application is configured using custom port other than default port 443, enter the port number in the URL to access the application.

  • If you have bookmarked the earlier URLs, update those with the new URL https://<hostname>:<portnumber>/RecipeManagement/

Also update the URLs used in AVEVA InTouch OMI and Rest API scripts with the new URL. Enter port number in the URL if custom port is used while configuring the application.

If you are upgrading from a version earlier than 2014 R2 (v2.0), you must use the IDE Import utility to re-import Equipment to their existing RecipeManagement App Objects (after you import the latest RecipeManagement App Object into the Galaxy). This will update the URL the objects use to point to the AVEVA Recipe Management Server (if it has changed). The IDE Import utility itself may need to have its Server Site node name updated in order to perform the import. For more information, refer to the section below.

Upgrading the software from the versions listed below only requires running the Setup.exe:

  • AVEVA Recipe Management 2023

  • AVEVA Recipe Management 2020 Update 1

  • AVEVA Recipe Management 2020

  • Recipe Management 2017 Update 2

  • Recipe Manager Plus 2017 Update 1

  • Recipe Manager Plus 2017

  • Recipe Manager Plus 2014 R3 SP1

  • Recipe Manager Plus 2014 R3

  • Recipe Manager Plus 2014 R2

For more information regarding the upgrade from a previous version of Recipe Manager Plus, see the Upgrade section of the AVEVA Recipe Management Installation Guide.
