You can make changes to an existing Formula. You must check out a Formula in order to make changes to it, other than changing the state. You can check out Formulas individually, or you can check out multiple Formulas by using the Multi Select function. For more information, see Multi Select Feature.

To edit a Formula

  1. From the Summary page, click the Formula you want to edit.

  2. Click Check Out on the details page. Once the Formula is checked out, it returns to the Draft state and the Parameter, Import, and Export parameter buttons along with the Edit button appear in the parameter grid. You can also update the Equipment mapping for the selected Formula.

  3. On the Parameter tab, browse to the desired tab (General, Input, or Output), and then click the Edit button to put a parameter into an edit mode so that you can make changes. The Update and Cancel buttons are displayed. The Update button saves the changes you make to the parameter, while the Cancel button undoes the changes to the parameter.

  4. On the Equipment tab, click Select All or Unselect All the Equipment, and then click Update to add new Equipment or remove existing Equipment. You can also manually select or unselect by clicking the check box to add or remove Equipment.

NOTE: Make sure that you save your changes by clicking the Update button before clicking the back arrow icon or moving to another tab. Otherwise, a warning message appears.

  5. Once you have made all your changes, click Check In to permanently save your changes. If you do not want to save your changes, you can click Undo Check Out to return all the fields to their original values.

  6. You can specify the state of your Formula by selecting an option from the menu next to the Formula name. You must have permission to change the Formula state. Once the state is changed to Approved or Obsolete, Draft is no longer an option. You can only change the state from Approved to Obsolete or vice versa. The state of an Approved or Obsolete Formula is automatically changed back to Draft if it is checked out again.

  7. You can also specify the Use settings of the Formula to Allowed or Not Allowed using the Set Use option.

  8. Click the back arrow icon to return to the Summary page. All the changes are updated in the Formula's tile.
