AVEVA™ Recipe Management

Filters

  • Last UpdatedJan 03, 2019
  • 3 minute read

The Basic and Advanced filters are available on both the Summary page and the Details page to let you refine the items or parameters, respectively, that are shown. These filter options are docked to the right side of the pages.

Filters are stored using browser local storage and are tied to the browser user. Unless you clear the filters that you select, the same filters are applied the next time when you access the page.

Advanced filters appear as a funnel in the Summary and the Detail page. If you click the Advanced Filter icon, the Advanced Filters slide-in window appears, and the Basic filter is not available.

The Advanced Filter slide-in window saves the search criteria applied for further use. If you close the AVEVA Recipe Management after performing the advanced filter and open the application again, the previous filter criteria used is retained.

Filtering on the Summary page

You can filter by an item's name using the filter text box at the top right of the Summary page that supports filtering. The number of items found is shown at the bottom of the Summary page. An icon Name Filter indicates that a filter has been applied.

To clear the filter in the text box, click the X icon.

Some summary pages have advanced filtering that you can access by clicking on the funnel icon. The icon will then appear in the status bar at the bottom of the screen indicating the filter is on.

In the Advanced Filters slide-in window, you can filter results using the following criteria:

  • Name

  • State

  • Keywords

  • Show upgradeable only

  • Show my checkouts only

If you select (Blank) from a list, all available items are shown.

If you specify an advanced filter, the Advanced Filter icon appears in the status area.

To clear the filters, click the Clear Fields button, then click Filter. All items are shown.

IMPORTANT: There are few exceptions to the Advanced Filters option available for different items.

  • Capability does not have Keywords and Show upgradeable only advanced filter option.

  • The Equipment advanced filter uses Show missing required IO references as one of the additional criteria. This option is available only when you configure AVEVA Recipe Management in a standalone mode.

  • In addition to these five criteria, the Recipe Templates advanced filter uses Show entities with warning only as one of the additional criteria.

  • In addition to these five criteria, the Formulas advanced filter has two others:

    1. Formula Template (system will filter for Formulas that are based on the Formula Templates you specify)

    2. Use

  • The Recipes advanced filter uses Recipe Templates as one of the additional criteria.

NOTE: The filtering criteria and the result are retained even if you switch from the tile view to the grid view or vice versa.

Points to remember while using Keywords as a Filter criteria

  • If you select multiple Keywords to filter entities, then only those entities that have all the selected keywords will be shown.

  • When you use the Keywords as a filter, the URL is updated. The URL is updated to contain the Keyword filters in the following format: Keywords=<keyword1>,<keyword2>,<keyword3>

  • You can save the updated URL as a bookmark/favorite that can be further used as a reproducible advanced filter and when navigated to will provide the same filtering as when it was saved.

  • You can copy the URL or share the URL in an email for someone else to execute. When it is executed, the Keywords filter specified in the URL will override the browser cached Keyword filter, and will be saved in the cache.

  • Keywords with special characters are encoded in the URL.

  • A pipe [|] symbol is used as a delimiter between different Filter criteria in the Filter status text.

Filtering on the Details page (Parameter grid)

Advanced filters are available for the parameter grid on the details page of an item.

You can filter by name using the filter text box at the top right of the parameter grid.

To clear the filter in the text box, click the X icon.

You can also use advanced filters by clicking the funnel icon. In the Advanced Filters slide-in window, you can enter the parameter name or Capability, parameter group name, and/or select the data type from the Data Type menu, then click Filter.

To clear the filters, click Clear Fields, then click Filter. All the parameters are shown.
