Validate the Recipe Template

  • Last UpdatedMay 16, 2024
  • 2 minute read

Use the Validate button to initiate a validation of the Recipe Template. You can perform the validation when the Recipe Template is either in checked-in or checked-out state. If a Recipe Template is currently marked as "needing validation", you can perform a validation and if successful it will remove the warning. You can perform a General or Equipment specific validation.

General Validation consists of the following elements:

  • A Formula Template has been set.

  • All transitions are valid.

  • All required (non-optional) parameters have been mapped.

  • The Recipe Template is valid on at least one Equipment.

Equipment Specific Validation consists of all the general validation elements plus the following elements:

  • All the Capabilities in the procedure must belong to the Equipment and have the correct version.

  • All the variables used in transitions or loops must belong to the Equipment.

  • Equipment parameters having string list and enum list datatype must be mapped to corresponding string list and enum list Formula parameters.

To validate the Recipe Template

  1. Open the Recipe Template Details page and then click Validate. A slide-in window appears.

  2. Select any of the following option to validate:

    • Perform general validation only: This is the default option for validation. This option performs a general validation for the Recipe Template without selecting Equipment.

    • Validate against Equipment: You must select Equipment from the list of latest available Equipment in the model. This option performs a general validation plus a more specific validation against the selected Equipment.

  3. Click Validate.

    • A successful validation notification appears if the validation is successful.

    • If validation errors exist, a validation error message is displayed with a hyperlink. You can click the link to get the detailed error information. You can use the information to troubleshoot the Recipe Template.

  4. Click OK.

NOTE: If a general check-in validation is successful, the warning icon is removed. A general validation is also done automatically on check-in.
