Configure Capabilities for Operator Interaction

Some Recipes require explicit Operator interaction during execution. Common examples are - manual addition of ingredients, which requires the operator to enter the amount of ingredient added, or simply take samples of the mix for QA evaluation.
Once the Operator completes interacting with the Capability, Operator must click the “Acknowledge Capability” button so that the Recipe proceeds with the execution of the next Capability or transition.
To set a capability for Operator Interaction
-
Open the Capability details page. Make sure that the Capability is checked-out.
-
Click the "Ack on Exit" button. The Acknowledge on Exit dialog box appears.
-
Select Yes.
-
Click Set and then click Check-in to complete the edit.
When you set the Acknowledge on Exit option to Yes, the Capability Details page displays the following:
-
Details area shows the Ack on Exit set to Yes
-
An additional column labeled as Edit Actual Required is added to the Capability parameters grid with the drop-down list of Yes and No. By default, the Edit Actual Required for all the Capability parameters is No.
“Edit Actual Required” in Capability
When the option Edit Actual Required is set to Yes for a parameter in the grid, the parameter value must be edited during execution. As an example, if an Operator requires entering the amount of ingredient added during the execution of a particular Capability, then the parameter “Ingredient Qty” must be set to “Edit Actual Required” as Yes. When the Capability is executed, the Operator will use this parameter actual to enter the quantity of ingredient manually added to the mix. A parameter actual that requires editing will not be mapped to IO. The entered value will be saved to history.
A Capability can combine parameters that require edit with other parameters that collect input directly from field devices and are mapped to IO.
It is possible that the Capability requires Operator interaction without entering any input in the system. For example, if a Capability is taking a sample of the mix to send to the QA Lab, then there is no need to set Edit Actual Required for any parameters to Yes.
In any case, once the Acknowledge on Exit option is set to Yes, the Operator will either need to click the Acknowledge Capability button or Abort Capability to proceed to the next Capability.
