Assign and Start a Recipe

When Equipment is available for execution you can assign a Recipe to it. During the assignment process of Recipe, the system checks for the following conditions before making a Recipe available in the assignment list:

  • Recipes need to be in "Approved" state

  • A Recipe assigned Formula needs to be set to "Allowed" use

  • Recipe-Capabilities and Variables are supported by the Equipment.

You must also configure the Recipe Formula to be used on the Equipment. The default setting for Formulas is All Equipment.

To assign a Recipe to Equipment

  1. From the Main menu, select Execution. The Summary screen displays the Equipment available for execution. Each tile shows the status of the Equipment. You can see a Formula or a Recipe that has been assigned to the Equipment as well.

  2. Click the Equipment to which you want to assign a Recipe.

  3. On the details screen, click Assign Recipe in the action bar. A slide-in window appears with a list of all the valid Recipes in the Recipe list box.

NOTE: If no matching Recipe is available for the selected Equipment, a warning message appears. If you think a Recipe should be available for the Equipment, you can use the Recipe Validation feature to see why it is not available.

  4. On the slide-in window, to filter the Recipe you want to assign, do the following:

    • In the Search text box, enter the search text to filter the Recipe you want to assign.

    • In the Keywords text box, enter the keywords based on which you want to filter the Recipe.

NOTE: Only Recipes will be listed and not the Recipe Templates. You need to enter atleast three characters in the Search text box to initiate filtering the recipes.

  5. Select a Recipe from the list and specify the Batch Size. The default Batch Size value and the corresponding unit of measure are inherited from the Base Formula size of the Formula which is used associated with the Recipe. The specified batch size along with the Formula's “Base Formula Size” is used to determine the scaling factor. A batch size of 0 will cause the system to use the Formula's Base Formula Size and therefore a scaling factor of 1.0. For more information on Scaling Factor, see Calculating and Assigning the Scaling Factor.

NOTE: On assignment, the Formula Target values for input/output parameters are scaled by the scaling factor. After scaling, if the new Target values fall within Min and Max range of the Equipment parameter then the Recipe is assigned. Otherwise, an error message appears.

  6. Click Assign. If you have configured the Done By/Check By options for Assign Recipe, then a Done By/Check By Settings dialog box appears. For more information, refer to the Using the Done By/Check By Signature Page topic.
After you have assigned the Recipe successfully to Equipment, the following occurs:

    • The name of the assigned Recipe is shown on the Summary page and the color bar on the Summary page is also modified.

    • The name of the assigned Recipe along with the version details is shown on the details screen.

    • The Equipment runtime status changes to Assigned.

You are now ready to start the Recipe.

NOTE: Capability parameters for which Optional Target is set to True and all unmapped parameters maps will have blank target values after you assign Recipe. You can leave them blank and start the Recipe.

To start a Recipe on the Equipment

  1. From the Main menu, select Execution. The Summary screen displays the Equipment available for execution

  2. Select the Equipment to which a Recipe has been assigned. The Execution Details page appears.

  3. Click the Start Recipe button. If you have configured the Done By/Check By options for Start Recipe, then a Done By/Check By Settings dialog box appears. For more information, refer to the Done By/Check By Settings Page topic.

You can monitor the values in the target and actual IO values for Capability Parameters in the Equipment Parameters tab.
