About Parameter Extensions

You can create parameter extensions only if you have the necessary permissions to access the Parameter Extensions menu.

Parameter Extensions allow you to add additional fields to parameters. After you add an extension, the latest version of an existing item (Equipment or Formula Template) is marked for upgrade. Formulas are upgradeable with extensions only after the parent Formula Template is upgraded. For more information on upgrading, see Basic Concepts.

NOTE: A change to the name of an item does not generate an upgrade notification. Upgrades only occur if you add or delete an extension or when you modify a group. Any modification causes all the Equipment and Formula Templates to be marked for an upgrade and is not reversible.

There is no limit to the number of extensions you can create. However, it can affect performance and usability if you add too many.
