Formula Template Parameters

The following table describes the Formula Template parameter columns for an export/import:

Column

Description

Parameter (required)

Name of the Formula Template parameter.

Description

Displays the description for the Formula Template parameter.

Group (optional)

Name of the parameter group.

Data Type (required)

Can be Boolean, String, Integer, Double.

Default Value (optional)

The value should match the data type.

Min Value (optional for Integer and Double, not used by String, Boolean and defined List data types)

The value should match the data type.

Max Value (optional for Integer and Double, not used by String, Boolean and defined List data types)

The value should match the data type.

FrequentlyUsed (optional)

Frequently used status of the Formula Template parameter.

UOM (optional)

The value should match a UOM in the UOM editor, or else it is added to UOMs.

If the .csv file has any extension names that are not defined in Parameter Extensions, the import skips them.

If the .csv file contains string values for an extension of type Double, an error occurs. However, numbers given for a String type are coerced to String.

You can export parameters for Formula Templates.

To export parameter for Formula Templates

  1. From the Formula Templates Summary page, click the item with the parameters you want to export. The Formula Templates details page appears.

  2. Click Export. A confirmation message appears.

  3. Do any of the following:

    • Click Open to open the .CSV file.

    • Click Save to download the .CSV file at the default location.

    • Click Save as to save the .CSV file at the location where you want to download the file.

    • Click Save and Open to save the file and then open the .CSV file.

To import parameters to Formula Templates

  1. From the Main menu, select Templates > Formula Templates to display the Formula Templates Summary page. All existing Formula Templates appear as tiles.

  2. Click the Add button or click a checked out Formula Template.

  3. Click the Import button. The Import Parameters slide-in window appears.

  4. In the slide-in window, select any of the following sources to import parameter:

    • Click From Equipment and select one of the pieces of Equipment listed. It will import only the Equipment parameters associated with the selected Equipment.

    • Click From Capability and select one of the pieces of Equipment listed. It will import the Capability parameters for each of the Capability associated with the Equipment and add it in Formula Template parameter list. If a parameter with the same name already exists in the Formula Template, it will be updated with the Equipment Capability parameter. Imported parameters from Capability will have the following nomenclature: [CapabilityName.ParameterName].

    • Click From Recipe Template and select one of the Recipe Template listed. It will import all the procedures Capability parameters using the alias name instead of the Capability name. If a parameter with same name already exists in Formula Template, it is updated with the Recipe Template parameter. Imported parameters from Recipe Template will have the following nomenclature: [AliasName.CapabilityParameterName].

    NOTE: Users using the Standard License version of AVEVA Recipe Management cannot import parameters from Recipe Templates or Equipment.

    • Click From File and browse for a .csv file that containsF Formula Template parameters in valid format.

    1. Once you have selected your source, click Import. A confirmation message appears.

    2. Click OK. The imported parameters are entered in the Parameters grid.

    3. Check in your Formula Template by clicking the Check In button.
