Data Toolbox

The Data Toolbox tab provides access to context element template objects and predefined journal actions that have been created and stored centrally on the PI Server.

The default position for the Data Toolbox tab is on the right side of the RtReports editor window.

Objects

  • Objects tab

    The Objects tab provides access to template objects that can be dragged and dropped into the corresponding data template tree node.

Predefined

  • Predefined tab

    The Predefined tab provides read and write access to predefined journal actions.

  • Duration Check

    Checks the duration of period between two limits.

  • Limit Check

    Checks the Level limit.

  • PI Alias Limit Check with Alias Limits

    Monitors a PI alias data source between PI alias limits entered as parameters.

  • PI Alias Limit Check

    Monitors a PI alias data source between numeric limits entered as parameters.

  • PI Tag Limit Check with Tag Limits

    Monitors a PI tag data source between PI tag limits entered as parameters.

  • PI Tag Limit Check

    Monitors a PI tag data source between numeric limits entered as parameters.

  • Time to Target Check

    Checks the time it takes to reach a specific target value.

  • Predefined journal actions are stored in the PI Module Database and come with the RtReports system or are created by users.

  • System predefined journal actions cannot be deleted or modified.

  • Custom predefined journal actions are created by users of the system and can be deleted.

  • You can

    • Drag and drop items from the Predefined tab into the appropriate level of the data template tree

    • Drag and drop items from the data template tree to create new predefined actions

  • You can right-click the predefined journal action to import, export, delete, or refresh the item.

  • The Details view shows the Name, Version, Description and Type for each predefined action.

  • The Icons view shows only the predefined action icon with its name.

Scratch Pad

  • Scratch Pad tab

    Functions as a clip board for temporary storage of report template objects.

  • Scratch pad items are cleared from memory when the user logs out of the session.

  • You can drag and drop items from an open report template onto the Scratch Pad tab, then open another report template and drag and drop the item from the scratch pad into the new report template.

  • You can right-click scratch pad items to delete items or change the display view.
