User authentication and access for RtReports is handled using Windows authentication groups and user accounts.
RtReports can be configured with either local machine or Domain-level user accounts.
During installation, RtReports creates the RtReportsAdmin group if it does not exist.

All permissions for RtReports are assigned to this group.

In order to use the system for the first time, at least one user must belong to this group.

Membership in this group allows the user to assign permissions to the various other groups.
If there are problems with the security database or the RtReportsAdmin group does not exist (for example, the group is accidentally deleted), manually run the OSISoft.RtReports.SecuritySettings.exe utility to recreate the initial settings. For more information, see Security database settings.
