Maintain report template database strings

The administrator maintains the integrity of template databases after performing certain actions such as cloning the PI Server.

Note: Report templates are stored in either the AF Server Configuration database (default) or the PI Module Database (legacy option). RtReports uses an index file to search for and retrieve report templates quickly. This index file uses the persist string of a PI module. When you clone a PI Server or manually migrate application data from PI Module Database to Asset Framework, this persist string changes and must be repaired. Use this feature if you clone your PI Server to repair your RtReports database.

1. Click Admin > Template Maintenance.

   The Template Maintenance window opens.

2. You have three choices.

   • Click Relink to relink all PIPersist links in all template databases.

     This action clears the persist string and places a new persist string in the index file for all template databases (Format, Data, Stylesheet, Predefined Action).

   • Click the Rebuild button to rebuild the index files for all template databases.

     This action rebuilds the index files for all template databases (Format, Data, Stylesheet, Predefined Action).

   • Click Repair to repair transactions in all template index databases.

     This action corrects transaction errors in all template databases in the event of server disconnection or primary server failover in a PI collective.
