You must rename a PI Server when comments and verifications for your time-based reports do not appear after you move RtReports data during a PI Server upgrade to version 3.4.375 PR1 or later.
This problem occurs because the name of the new PI Server is different from that of the old PI Server.
-
Create a PI Server collective whose name is the same as the old PI Server, and then add the new PI Server to the collective.
This allows your report templates to retrieve comments and verifications for time reports using the old PI Server name.
-
In the PI Collective Manager utility, create a new PI Server collective with the name of the old PI Server .
-
Add the new PI Server to this PI Server collective as a member.
-
On the RtReports server, start the About PISDK application, and delete all references to the old PI Server.
-
Add the new PI Server to the server list.
This adds an entry to the Known Servers Table on the RtReports server that is retrievable by the old PI Server name.
You can now retrieve comments and verifications for time-based reports on the new PI Server.
