RtReports is a template-based, enterprise reporting system that has two major components:

  • RtReports editor

The RtReports editor is a .NET Windows application used to create and modify report specifications, called report templates.

Report template specifications are used for:

    • Selecting data sources

    • Aggregating and processing data

    • Formatting report data

    • Collecting electronic signatures for reviews

Report templates use internal and external data sources, and are stored in a designated PI Server within the PI Module Database.

Users create, edit, test, preview, and manage the report templates through the RtReports editor.

The RtReports editor stores the result set from processing data in the data journal.

  • RtReports generator

The RtReports generator is a .NET web application.

Users with appropriate permissions sign in to RtReports through an Internet Explorer (IE), Microsoft Edge, or Chrome browser.

Users who want to generate a report:

    • Search for report templates by batch or time

    • Generate a report by selecting the appropriate report template and batch or time data context

    • Review report data and identify deviations from critical process limits before approving report sections

    • Maintain comments and approval history

The RtReports generator can be used to generate new reports or view reports that have already been generated.

Reports open in a new browser window called the Report Viewer.
